Do not miss out any details! Open this video as you crochet along to make the process more effective and timesaving.

Please read before getting started!

  • I highly recommend using the same yarn size and hook size as mine to get the best result for this project!
  • While making the circle, we use joined rounds. At the end of each round, make 1 slst into the 1st st to join, then start the next round with Ch1. Here, Ch1 and slst are NOT included in the total stitch count.

Circle Panel

Use White yarn (or any color you prefer) & start with a slip knot.

R1 Ch7, starting from 2nd ch from the hook, 1inc, 4sc, 4sc (all into the last ch), into the lower parts of the ch, 4sc, 1inc, 1slst (into the 1st sc) [16]

R2 Ch1, 16inc, 1slst [32]

R3 Ch1, (7sc, 1inc) *4, 1slst [36]

R4 Ch1, (1sc, 1inc, 1sc) *12, 1slst [48]

R5 Ch1, 48sc, 1slst [48]

R6 Ch1, (3sc, 1inc) *12, 1slst [60]

R7 Ch1, (2sc, 1inc, 2sc) *12, 1slst [72]

R8 Ch1, (5sc, 1inc) *12, 1slst [84]

  • Cut the yarn and make another circle.

Preparing for Joining

  • Take one circle and find the last stitch. Count backwards, starting from this last stitch as one, and count up to the ninth stitch. Place a stitch marker in the ninth stitch.
  • Starting from the stitch next to the first marker, count forward again up to the 25th stitch and place a second marker there. Now, you’ll have two markers with exactly 24 stitches between them, not counting the markers.
  • Take another circle and place the markers the same way.
  • Watch this part of the tutorial for a more detailed explanation.

Joining the Circles

 1. Place the two circles together with the right sides facing each other and the wrong sides facing you.

 2. Make sure the stitch markers in each circle are aligned, so each pair of markers is directly opposite the other.

 3. When joining, insert your hook through the Front loop only (FLO) of the top circle and the Back loop only (BLO) of the bottom circle for each stitch.

  • Begin joining at any pair of stitch markers you prefer.
  • Start in the stitch marked with a stitch marker, and make single crochets all the way around, inserting your hook through the back loop of the top circle and the front loop of the bottom circle as described above.
  • Continue until you reach the second pair of stitch markers. You should have a total of 60 single crochets from joining.
  • At the end, Ch1 and cut the yarn.
  • Watch this part of the tutorial for a more detailed explanation.

Ears

  • Now that the circles are joined, you should have 24sc remaining on each circle.
  • Next, locate the 12th stitch on each circle (on opposite sides) and place a stitch marker in each. These stitches should be directly across from each other.
  • Watch this part of the tutorial for a more detailed explanation.

R1 Starting from the marked stitch on the front circle, 12 sc along the front circle, 1 sc into the connecting stitch (from the joined circles), 12 sc along the lower circle. [25]

R2-R7 25sc [25]

R8 (3sc, 1dec) *5 [20]

R9 10dec [10]

  • Cut the yarn and close the ear.
  • Watch this part of the tutorial to see how to close the ears.

Make the 2nd ear in the same way but this time, leave a long yarn tail when you bring in the yarn in the beginning. This yarn tail will be used to close the gap between two ears!

Eyes

Use black yarn (milk cotton or acrylic) with a 2.5mm hook.

Start with a slip knot and Ch3.

R1 Starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1inc, 3sc (all into the last ch), into lower part of the ch, 1sc

  • Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail if you are sewing onto the face. If you are gluing them, weave in the ends!

Final Touches

  • Close the gap between two ears with the yarn tail that we left.
  • Sew or glue the eyes on R3 of any circle you like, with 8sc apart between two eyes.
  • I used a black felt cloth to make the mouth. You can also embroider them using a black yarn.

And there you have it! You’ve done an amazing job getting this far. Take a moment to admire your work—you’ve put in the effort, and it shows. It might not be perfect, but it’s a reflection of your creativity and dedication, and that’s what truly matters. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished!
