Materials Needed
- Cotton / acrylic or sports yarn (5ply) in Red, Yellow, Pink, Green, Olive Green, Dark Green, Dark Brown, Black, and White
- 3mm crochet hook
- Stuffing materials
- Darning needle, Scissors
Crochet Abbreviations
Abbreviations are in US terminology.
- Ch – Chain
- mr – magic ring
- st – stitch
- R – round / row
- sc – single crochet
- inc – increase
- dec – decrease
- dc – double crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- slst – slip stitch
- BLO – back loops only
- FLO – front loops only
- * – repeat
- [] – total stitch count in each round

Head
I used Beige color for the head.
Start with a magic ring.
R1 7sc in mr [7]
R2 7inc [14]
R3 (1sc, 1inc)*7 [21]
R4 (1sc, 1inc, 1sc)*7 [28]
R5-R7 1sc in each stitch (3 rounds) [28]
R8 (3sc, 1inc)*7 [35]
R9-R10 1sc in each stitch (2 rounds) [35]
R11 (5sc, 1dec)*5 [30]
R12 (3sc, 1dec)*6 [24]
R13 (1sc, 1dec, 1sc)*6 [18]
Start stuffing and continue stuffing after each following rounds!
R14 (1sc, 1dec)*6 [12]
R15 6dec [6]
- Cut the yarn and close the head using the darning needle.

Fruit Cap
- Here, dark green and olive green yarns are used to make an avocado fruit cap (You can use other colors to make the fruits you prefer).
Start with dark green yarn.
Start with a magic ring.
R1 8sc in mr [8]
R2 8inc [16]
R3 (1sc, 1inc)*8 [24]
R4 (1sc, 1inc, 1sc)*8 [32]
R5 (3sc, 1inc)*8 [40]
R6-R9 1sc in each stitch (4 rounds) [40]
Change to Olive green yarn in R10 and we’ll continue using this color for the rest of the cap.

R10 1sc in each stitch [40]
Put the head inside the cap in a slightly tilted position after R10, since there would be decreases in the upcoming rounds.
R11 (3sc, 1dec)*8 [32]
R12 (2sc, 1dec)*8 [24]
- Cut the yarn and weave in the ends.

Ears
- Crochet the ears on the R9 of the cap.
- Mark the place where you want the ears to be using the pins first.
- Then, Insert the hook directly into the cap and bring the dark green yarn.
Ch3, 1sc (into the 2nd ch from the hook), 1dc, skip 2sc (on the cap), 1slst (into the next sc on the cap).
- Make 2 ears on each side of the cap.
- Cut the yarn after each. Weave in the ends.

Embroidering the face
- Cut the black yarn of about 8 inches and separate into 2 strands.
- Embroider the eyes with 6 stitches apart on the R5 counting from the cap.
- Embroider the mouth with an inverted v shape between the eyes. Alternatively, you can embroider the nose with a T shape.
- Embroider two whiskers on either side of the eyes.
- Add the blushes below the eyes using blusher or eyeshadow (This is optional).

Large Leaf
Start with a magic ring, using Green yarn.
Ch4, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook,1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, 1slst (into the mr), Ch3, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1sc, 1hdc, 1slst (into the mr), Ch5, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1sc, 1hdc, 2dc, 1slst (into the mr)
- Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail.
- Watch this part of the tutorial to see how to make the large leaf.
Fruit Stalk
- This is for fruits with stalks, such as avocados and apples.
- Insert the hook into the R10 of the cap between the two ears and bring the dark brown yarn.
Ch4, Starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1slst, 2sc, skip 1sc (on the cap), 1slst (into the next sc)
- Cut the yarn and weave in the ends.
Small Leaf
Start with a magic ring, using Green yarn.
(Ch3, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 1sc, hdc,1slst into the mr)*2
- Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail.
Now, we’ll assemble the leaves.
- Sew the small leaf in front of the stalk.
- Sew the large leaf on top of the fruits that don’t have a stalk (like a strawberry).
- If you are crocheting a strawberry, embroider tiny little spots on the fruit cap using the white yarn.
