  • We use Rows for the base of the body. Start a row with a chain (ch) and turn the piece at the end of each row.
  • When it comes to Rounds, joined rounds are used for the body. At the end of every round, make a slip stitch (slst) into the first single crochet (sc) of that round.
  • Begin each new round with a chain 1 (Ch 1). The first single crochet (sc) of the new round should be made in the same stitch where you just made the slip stitch (the first sc of the previous round).
  • slst and Ch1 are NOT included in our total stitch count.

Please help, my stitches don’t align properly to form a nice grid-like pattern and my stitches don’t have the nice cross shape, they’re more of a v even though I’ve been doing yarn under instead of over, what am I doing wrong?

Sometimes, it can also depend on the tension of your stitches that make the row slightly tilted and color changes to not properly align. Try using a slightly bigger hook size and relax your hands while crocheting. Hope this helps!
