Pouch

Start with a slip knot and make 21ch.

R2-R15 Ch1, Turn, 1sc in each stitch (14rows) [20]

- Using the darning needle, sew the second panel along the three sides of the first panel.
- Cut the yarn and weave in the ends.
- Watch this part of the tutorial to see how to connect the two panels.
Sewing the pockets onto the base panel
- Arrange the pockets anyway you like on the panel.
- Count the number of rows along the sides and the number of stitches in each row to determine the space that each pocket will take up.
- For example, the last pouch has 15 rows and 20 stitches in each row. With the stitch markers, I marked 15 rows leaving 3 rows in the bottom, and 20 stitches leaving 2 stitches on the left side of the body panel, and sew the three sides leaving only the upper side.
- Watch this part of the tutorial to see how to measure and sew the pocket.
Flap for the Pouch
- Insert the 3mm crochet hook into one row above and opposite to the left side of the pouch on the body panel and bring the blue yarn.
R1 Ch1, 1sc in each stitch [20]
- Here, you can start with 21ch, follow the same pattern, and sew the flap onto the base (if you don’t want to directly crochet onto the panel).
R2-R7 Ch1, Turn, 1sc in each stitch (6 rows) [20]
R8 Ch1, Turn, 1dec, 16sc, 1dec [18]
R9 Ch1, Turn, 1dec, 14sc, 1dec [16]
R10 Ch1, Turn, 1dec, 12sc, 1dec [14]
- Cut the yarn.
We’ll continue crocheting along the sides of the flap to smoothen out the edges.
- Insert the 3mm crochet hook into the first row of the flap and bring the blue yarn.
Ch1, 10sc (on the 1st side), 14sc (on the last row), 10sc (on the last side) [34]
- Cut the yarn and weave in the ends.
- Watch this part of the tutorial to see how to make the flap.
- Attach the snap button to the flap if you want.
For the other pockets, you can sew them as mentioned above. There is also another way to attach the pockets using slip stitches so that you can save time sewing. But they can be quite tricky and only suitable for mesh and strawberry pockets. You can watch how I attach them using slip stitches here.
Vines
Use green yarn and a 3mm crochet hook.
Start with a slip knot.
{10ch, (Into the 3rd ch from the hook, 1hdc, 1tr, 1hdc, 2ch, 1slst)}*8
- Cut the yarn.
- Watch this part of the tutorial to see how to make the vines.
Now, we’ll continue working with the pink yarn that we left uncut on the body panel.
- Make Ch1 and Turn, and switch to the 4mm crochet hook.
- Insert the hook into the last st of the previous row, place the cloth hanger on the top of the hook, bring the yarn, and make 1sc.
- Continue making sc by burying the hanger under the stitches.
- Ch1, cut the yarn, and weave in the ends.
- Watch this part of the tutorial to see how to attach the panel to the cloth hanger.
- Using the darning needle, sew the vines on either side of the panel as well as in the middle to create two loops.
- Watch this part of the tutorial to see how to sew the vines.
- Make 50ch, cut the yarn and tie it as a ribbon onto the mesh pocket.
And there you have it! You’ve done an amazing job getting this far. Take a moment to admire your work—you’ve put in the effort, and it shows. It might not be perfect, but it’s a reflection of your creativity and dedication, and that’s what truly matters. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished!
